Old Deerfield Productions is a non-profit theater company with the mission of creating, presenting, and producing high quality theater arts that engage, challenge, and entertain audiences. ODP has a ten-year history of commissioning new work that addresses social challenges and tells the stories of neglected women in history. Their success with The Captivation of Eunice Williams that premiered in 2004 and toured Europe and Canada and was performed in co-operation with Glimmerglass Opera and at the Smithsonian Institution was repeated with TRUTH, an opera about the life of Sojourner Truth that was seen by more than 2400 audience members, broadcast on WGBY, performed at the New York Fringe, and accompanying education programs were enjoyed by youth throughout Western Mass.
Linda McInerney (Artistic Director of Old Deerfield Productions) is also the Director and Producer of Frankenstein. Linda has been working professionally in the theater for over thirty years as an actor, director, teacher, producer, and artistic director. She has an MFA from the University of Massachusetts and a BA in Theater and French from Middlebury College. She also attended the National Shakespeare Company Conservatory.
Lindel Hart (writer, performer playing the Creature) has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe as a singer, a dancer and an actor in traditional plays, as well as in experimental performance collaborations. He has performed with acclaimed New York performance artists Penny Arcade (Bitch! Dyke! Faghag! Whore!) and Ping Chong (The Angels of Swedenborg) and collaborated with choreographer/dancer Mary Miller (Mary Miller Dance Company, Pittsburgh, PA) in developing original and adapted performance works. The Miller/Hart collaborations have received critical praise and include The Yellow Wallpaper, an adaptation of the novella by Charlotte Perkins Gilman; Sowelu: A Spiritual Odyssey; Twilight; Time Bomb; and Turtle Island, a work for children of all ages. On more traditional theatre, he has recently taken on leading roles in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Rocky Horror Show, Rope and Legally Blonde the Musical. As a writer Lindel has contributed to numerous publications, including The New Art Examiner and In Pittsburgh, and formerly served as on-air film critic for WQED-FM’s Sunday Arts Magazine (Pittsburgh, PA). He has written plays, screenplays, shorts stories and poetry, and has edited and published a volume of poetry by the late Belva Godwin Phillips.
Colin Allen (Frankenstein, DeLacey, and William) is an actor and filmmaker residing in Shelburne, MA. He has been a performer in music and theater since childhood and has since worked his way onto the screen. His credits include independent films: The Earth Rejects Him, The Devil’s Nightmare, and Spooners; and music videos or Like Moths to Flames. His theater credits include: Carmen Ghia in The Producers, Edward Hyde in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Ellard in The Foreigner, and Brandon in Rope.
Jane Williams (Mary Shelley and Elizabeth) Jane's career began in her hometown of New Salem, MA when first cast in an original musical presented by the North Quabbin Performing Arts Center at the 1794 Meetinghouse. She has been a regular cast member there since 1993. Her interest in theater led her to join productions by Amherst Leisure Services, North Country Players, Theatre at the Mount, ODP and more recently the Double-Take Fringe Festival. In real life, Jane is the Clinical Coordinator for ServiceNet’s Sheltering and Housing Division of Franklin County. She has been providing outreach clinical services to the community’s homeless population and troubled youth since 1981. In 2006 Jane co-founded Stages of Life, Inc. a 501(c)3, providing free, quality educational theatre programs to the youth of underserved communities in Franklin County. Working with kids and the stage has been a way for Jane to combine her passion for performing arts and clinical social work by promoting theater as a therapeutic means of self-expression, instilling self-confidence and healing.
Florian Canga (video and sound artist) was born in 1977 in Tirana, Albania, where in 1996 he opened his own company "Orange Productions" for "Live" concert and "Live" recordings. Until 2005, the company continues to work for concerts, broadcasts "live" and sound for film & documentary. In 2005 he created video projections and sound design for the stage and corporate events. He has created video projections for Opera works, like "Aida," "Otello", "Orphee" "Andrea Chenier" "Carmen", etc.. Videoprojeksionet and graphics for "Skanderbeg", "Porgy & Bess" "Verther", "Tritptico", "A flower of memory" and a number of international companies in Albania, as Christiedigital, EIKI, and Avstumpfl.
Athan Vennell (set and costumes) is a local designer living in Hatfield, MA who concentrates his skills on creating spaces and emotional moments through fashion, costume, bridal, accessories, and set design. He graduated from Pratt Institute of Art & Design in Brooklyn, NY in 1999 and continued to work in NYC for many years after as a design assistant for the likes of Maja Hanson and Mark Montano and styling for celebrity clients such as Rose Byrne, Rosario Dawson, Paul Bettany and custom work for musicians for national and international tours as well as costumes for Broadway and Disney. He made the jump back to the valley ten years ago and has continued to design for clients in NYC as well as teaming up locally with Old Deerfield Productions who graciously allows him complete creative license on their projects: designing and creating costumes and set installations for Eurydice and Madwoman of Chaillot. In addition, Athan spends his ‘other’ time organizing pop-up shops and creating items from reclaimed materials and breathing new life into the ‘old and discarded and unwanted’ items we pass by everyday. His work can be found in stores and at art and craft events around the Northeast.
Matt Cowan has been working as a lighting technician since he was twelve years old. Before co-founding Down Right, he was the owner of DMC Lights, based in Northampton, MA. He is also the Lighting Director at the Calvin Theatre and teaches Lighting Design at Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School. Down Right formed in 2012 as an amalgamation of two production teams. Matt Cowan of DMC Lights and Hugh Currier of Bellatone Audio and Recording combined their respective talents to create an all-inclusive event production company. Having years of combined experience in theater, concerts, corporate events, and design, Down Right is able to provide unique, custom tailored packages for every type of event.
Joe Dulude II is probably best known for his makeup designs for the Tony Award-- winning hit musical Wicked. He has won both an Etsy Design Award and Local 706 Makeup and Hair Guild Award for this work. SinceWicked, Joe has moved on to do such productions as The Wedding Singer, Grease!, Follies and many more. He has also consulted on several Broadway productions including Catch Me If You Can, The Normal Heartand Assassins. Prior to his design work on Broadway, Joe freelanced as a makeup artist in both New York City and Los Angeles. His makeup skills have been seen on E!, Style and Lifetime, as well as several commercials. Joe Dulude II’s work has also graced the runways during Mercedes--Benz Fashion Week, including most recently Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan and Monique Lhuiller. Throughout his career Joe’s work has enhanced the faces of many well--known actors and performers for television, theatrical and personal appearances.
Early on in his makeup career, Joe worked for MAC Cosmetics, managing the flagship MAC Pro Store. This specialty store is designed specifically for persons in the industry to provide them with a unique and knowledgeable shopping experience. Joe worked with many industry leading makeup artists and high profile celebrities, helping to choose products and colors, while maintaining connections with various television and film productions to ensure their makeup supply needs were met.
In his spare time Joe is also a fine artist and photographer. He has also lent his talents to producing and directing several benefits including most notably Defying Inequality: The San Francisco Concert.
